We would like to inform you about upcoming and drastic changes regarding our sector and at the same time ensure you why GTS will remain the leading provider.
There are some new laws which, as of January 1st, 2015, will have serious implications in three important sectors under the Sulphur Directive 2012/33/EU.
These new laws will result in a reduction of sulphur emission from vessels navigating in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the English Channel. These are so called ‘SECA’ (Sulphur emission control areas) which will result in ships been forced to use fuel with a maximum of just 0.1% a remarkable reduction from the now allowed 1%.
The obvious impact will be the cost effects across the sector. As it is within GTS’s nature to provide the best value for money and service, we will be working arduously to maintain our commitment.
